Project Manager - Customer Support Job Opening in San Diego, California - JOB TITLE: Project Manager - Customer Support
SUMMARY: Dynamic, high-tech electronics manufacturer has an immediate opening for a passionate, detail-oriented Project Manager to participate in exciting new solutions and systems deployments and Customer Support activities.
This position is responsible for the coordination and completion of multiple projects simultaneously. Will manage all aspects of projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of projects. Is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope.
Must have a technical, IT background, and solid business, management, budgeting and analysis skills; be customer focused; be skilled at getting the best out of people and projects; and thrive when planning projects and working with project teams.
This position is based in San Diego, CA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
Ensure project deliverables are strategically aligned with business objectives.
Develop and maintain for the life of each project a detailed project plan to track progress.
Define clear and comprehensive project scope, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Define, estimate, and plan project tasks with inter-dependencies to meet objectives.
Identify and secure key project resources. Manage resources to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
Provide coaching and mentoring of project resources.
Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs. Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
Define and report key measures of success. Report and escalate to management as needed.
Implement project change requests and corrective actions to ensure project success.
Perform risk assessments and management to minimize project risks.
Consistently communicate to internal and external stakeholders outlining status, risks and issues, and ensuring resource availability and allocation.
Work effectively with business partners, vendors, technology, and the project team.
Responsible for providing project status reports to team leaders and executive staff members.
Coordinates with other departments to ensure customer success.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in computer science, engineering or related field.
Minimum of 8-10 years of related experience and/or training as a project manager in the information technology or health care sector.
Solid technical background, with thorough understanding of software development and web technologies.
Certificates, licenses and registrations required: PMP/Prince II Certification a plus but not required
Computer skills required: Microsoft Office products with emphasis on MS Project, Word, and Excel
Other skills required:
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Articulate self-starter and team player.
Ability to lead and schedule the work of others.
Proven ability to manage tasks and accomplish goals.
Experience leading large projects in Healthcare industry and/or RFID technology.
Ability to maintain full awareness of project status, assigned resources, issues, and budget implications.
Demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices.
Exposure to multiple project management methodologies and tools.
