Accounting Manager Job Opening in Dallas, Texas - About Bridge Tower:
Bridge Tower is a private real estate investment firm that owns and manages a portfolio of over 1000 single family properties. Most homes in the Bridge Tower portfolio came through REOs, short sales, portfolio acquisitions and private transactions. Recently, Bridge Tower has partnered with local builders to construct over 500 homes primarily for rentals in Dallas and Houston.
Bridge Tower has successfully raised seven real estate funds, The firm is renowned for creating funds that meets the needs of investors in a variety of tax situations. Looking ahead, the firm will add to its 1000+ properties in Dallas by expanding to Houston, Texas and its surrounding suburbs.
Position
The company is looking for a bright and outgoing Accounting Manager to join its Dallas team. This individual will be involved in all aspects of month-end closing and reporting processes. Real estate experience a plus.
Responsibilities
Perform timely completion of monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities, G/L entries and financial statement analysis through to preparation of external reports.
Maintain integrity of balance sheet accounts through review of account activity and balances for accuracy and reasonableness and prepare adequate supporting audit schedules
Perform bank and revenue reconciliations.
P&L trend analysis and investigation of discrepancies.
Participate in completion of interim and year-end audit work
Manage the procurement process (reviewing accounts payable transactions for accuracy and posting to the general ledger) and intercompany transactions.
Fixed Asset management and reconciliation.
Assist with both internal and external reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial company policy
Identify process improvement opportunities for processes and reporting.
Process accounts payable and receivables as needed.
Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
Requirements
BA/BS in Accounting and at least two years general accounting experience from a large company or Public Practice environment.
Detail orientated
Team leadership experience or mentoring a plus
Ability to think for themselves and proactive nature
A combination of private and public accounting experience a plus
CPA a plus
Real estate experience a plus
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in Excel
Experience with Quickbooks and a property management software a plus
Ability to work well with others in this fast paced accounting department
