1. General job duties.
Ages 3 and up. 4 bed ICU. Cardiac, Pulmonary, Surgical, Medical patient populations.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
GE monitoring, EKG, ISTAT, Covidien Ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Electronic Health Record with Computerized Physician Order Entry. Ancillary hospital departments include lab, radiology, dietary, materials management, and pharmacy.
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Skills may include Cardiology, Surgical, Medical, Pulmonary, patients.
A graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Nebraska or Compact State.
Two years ICU nursing experience required.
4. Specific licensures and required. Is a national certification required? Current BLS and ACLS certification required. CCRN preferred.
5. Shift or schedule requirements. Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?
12 hour shifts, 6-6 (looking for nights or day/night rotating). Every 3rd weekend. Call is required when ICU is closed. Dr. available via phone 24/7. LOOKING FOR someone who would work in Med/Surg, as needed.
6. Number of patients in a day; who do they have as support staff?
Will always have 2 nurses in a 4-bed unit. May have secretary/C.N.A. depending on acuity, census, etc.
7. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.
2 patients to one nurse, with 2 nurses always in the 4-bed unit. 1:1 ratio will be considered based on patient acuity.
8. Dress Code: Charcoal Grey or Black scrubs
9. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
There is formal hospital orientation, followed by nurse specific orientation to learn the charting system, monitors, and equipment. Department specific orientation consists of one to one training with a senior nurse.
