Position Summary
Action Target is transforming its data management environment and is in need of a Data Engineer/Analyst to join the Information Technology team.
This individual will take a leading role in setting, driving and implementing our data management, data integration, data governance, data warehousing, and business intelligence strategy and solutions.
This person will interface with business leaders as a partner and in our data and its structure and its relationship to business processes, tools, and company financials. This will involve data mining, analysis, troubleshooting, query design, reporting, etc.
The Data Engineer/Analyst will plan and execute projects of varying sizes and complexity, leveraging different technologies and tools, in support of our strategy, as well as support the IT software development team in the development of custom in-house software.

Responsibilities and Duties
Devise and implement solutions to maximize data integrity and optimize operational efficiency, including data warehousing, reporting, integration of diverse data sources, custom internal applications, etc.
Collaborate with and support key business leaders by providing data analysis and troubleshooting in areas such as finance, products, supply chain, IT, after market services, and engineering to drive better and more timely decision making and improved data integrity.
Manage and maintain data sources
Keep up-to-date with latest technology trends
Develop and implement data governance standards
Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers
Education / Experience / Skills / Technologies
BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or related field
5+ years? practical experience with ETL, data processing, database programming and data analytics.
Background in data mining and statistical analysis
Experience using various database technologies (Postgres, MS SQL, My SQL, NoSQL), with strong Postgres background preferred.
Strong Linux skills
Functional programming experience (Bash, Python, other)
Ability to work cross platform between Linux and Windows
Strong Command Line Interface (CLI) skills
Some background in finance and financial systems (education and/or experience)
Able to understand various data structures and common methods in data transformation
Understanding of theory and practice of data warehouse design, setup and maintenance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired
Some background in Object Oriented Programming (C#, C++, other)
Programming for Microsoft Office products like Excel, SharePoint, etc.
Experience with Git and Jenkins
