Our Telephonic Crisis Screener performs pre-admission reviews for adults in a psychiatric crisis at our Community Outreach for Psychiatric Emergencies (COPE) facility, a Medicaid Certified Crisis Screening Center, providing walk-in, telephonic and mobile screening of adults seeking inpatient and/or outpatient crisis services for acute and sub-acute psychiatric crises.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
The Telephonic Crisis Screener shall have, at minimum, a Master?s Degree from an accredited college or university, specializing in psychology, social work, or guidance and counseling. He/she shall obtain and/or maintain current, appropriate licensure/ certification issued by the State of Michigan; full licensure must be obtained within one (1) of employment. In addition to documented educational training, the Crisis Screener shall have provided direct treatment services to adults in a behavioral health inpatient or outpatient setting for not less than 18 months, of which at least 6 months was spent working with adults with co-occurring disorders, within the past 3 years. In addition to direct work experience, the Crisis Screener shall, minimally, demonstrate (1) basic knowledge of diagnostics, psychopharmacology, and supportive treatment approaches as applied to a severely mentally ill (SMI) adult population; and (2) knowledge of the identification and treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.
LOCATION: COPE Facility, Livonia, MI (easy access to and from I-96, Farmington Rd. exit)
SHIFT: Full-time days, Monday - Friday 8a - 4p
COMPENSATION: $18.50 - $21.50/hr depending on experience

We are seeking State of Michigan Licensed Therapists, Counselors and Social Workers with the ability to conduct interviews with adult psychiatric patients in crisis to discern care needs, and to gather information from any number of community providers to discern appropriate level of care recommendations via presenting symptoms.
Responsibilities:
Telephonic screening and regular Electronic Health Record interaction and on-site assistance as needed.
Our Telephonic Crisis Screener position is the front line of contact with patients and their families, community hospitals, emergency rooms, and managed care case managers for inpatient admission authorization.
Ability to identify and diagnose co-occurring disorders.
Excellent customer service skills and working well within a mutli-disciplinary treatment team.
Strong multi-tasking management skills and works well in the varied pace of an emergency center.
