Staff Accountant Job Opening in Virginia Beach, Virginia - BurgerBusters Inc. is a large, privately-owned, growth-driven company. Job Overview: The Staff Accountant will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the accounting department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail. This role will utilize excellent accounting knowledge, strong in Excel and Pivot Tables, other IT programs, time management skills and effective problem solving to ensure success. Primary responsibilities will include reconciliations, journal entries, and expense variance analysis.
Primary Responsibilities may include : * Record the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording , and disposing of retired fixed assets. * Perform a monthly analysis of construction in progress account; record the necessary entries to capitalize project costs. * Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis; research and resolve account reconciling items. * Provide reconciliations, schedules, supporting documentation and assistance on financial audit. * Perform monthly variance analysis of expenses. * Assist with the preparation of financial statements, adjusting journal entries and supporting schedules. * Prepare month-end accruals as needed. * Assist with implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls
Knowledge and Skill Requirements: * Bachelor?s degree * Full charge bookkeeping experience * Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of account reconciliations * Strong Excel, IT and analytical skills * Good organizational skills and detail oriented * Microsoft Dynamics GP experience a plus * Self-starter, creative thinker and highly motivated * Exceptional work ethic
