Infrastructure Project Manager Job Opening in Tulsa, Oklahoma - What is the position?
The Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts. This includes establishing and implementing project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.
What will you do?
As an Infrastructure Project Manager you will:
Review project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available departmental resources to various phases of project.
Establish a work plan and staffing for each phase of project.
Arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Formulate and define technical scope and objectives of project.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path items pertaining to complex project plans having multiple inter-dependencies such as departments, vendors and processes.
Negotiate with the project sponsor to ensure that desired timelines and budget expectations are met.
Serve as liaison to both internal technology staff and vendors to ensure business requirements are fully understood.
Review status reports prepared by project personnel.
Modify schedules or plans as required including quality assurance test plans and quality assurance testing.
Manage process.
Help prepare information deliverables for Project Manager Officer regarding progress toward project milestones.
Accept and assess status reports, change requests, and requirements documentation to ensure project progression.
Manage and participate in ongoing integration efforts such as testing, dress rehearsals and conversion activities, etc.
Coordinate project activities with activities of business units.
Coordinate and respond to requests for changes from original specifications.
Work closely with the end users, business technologists, and others to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs.
Manage the process of developing system requirements and design specifications.
Direct efforts to refine conceptual systems design requirements into the technical design.
Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle.
Lead the effort in creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs.
Manage project activity and determine work priorities.
Provide input on staff performance to administrative manager on project completion and recommends additions to staff.
Define project objectives, develop project plans, administer project budgets for personnel and project expenses.
What are the requirements?
Extensive knowledge in project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
Advanced knowledge of plan development and execution, scope planning, schedule development, cost estimating, budgeting, and control, quality planning assurance, organizational planning, communications planning, risk identification and risk response control.
Advanced knowledge of the software development process, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management.
Working knowledge of utilizing business applications for competitive advantage.
Working knowledge and understanding of business needs.
Working knowledge of analysis, design, and implementation experience with technologies.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Technical proficiency in hardware and systems software.
Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations.
Ability to develop and deliver projects using leading-edge technology.
Ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills at all management levels.
Ability to multi-task.
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus.
4-7 years of experience in project management, which includes at least 3 years experience in the information technology or 10-13 years related business experience.
