Medical Healthcare Provider Job Opening in Monroe, Michigan - QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess one of the following Michigan Licenses: a Registered Nurse, a Practical Nurse, an Emergency Medical Technician, or a Paramedic
Experience in the substance abuse field preferred
Possess working knowledge of Occupation, Safety, and Health Administration standards and Universal Precautions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, and Email
Experience using Electronic Medical Records systems preferred
Possess good communication skills
TB Test and police clearance required
JOB DUTIES:
Manage all inquiries with regards to information, referral, and/or possible admission.
Conduct pre-admission screenings of potential clients for detoxification services, schedule detoxification admissions according to Harbor Light admission criteria
Conduct client to detoxification and residential programs, including completion of all required medical documents
Provide general health care of clients which includes but is not necessarily limited to: a) administering and recording medications as prescribed by attending physicians, b) perform vital sign checks and document results
Take appropriate action as directed by attending physician to ensure clients medical stability and in cases of emergency facilitate assistance per Harbor Light protocol.
Assist Medical Director or designate in the provision of medical services
Work with the treatment team to maintain order, discipline, and a substance free environment
Attend all required staff meetings; training sessions, seminars and/or workshops for staff development
Maintain records, charts, logs and all other pertinent data for the medical unit on a daily basis
Request Authorization for SEMCA Medicaid referrals upon admission to program
Understand and work within The Salvation Army and Harbor Light Mission and Positional Statements
Possess an excellent working knowledge of The Harbor Light Policies and Procedures
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
HIPAA - Level 1 access to Clinical Records
