Software Developer (Java) Job Opening in Springfield, Virginia - The Software Developer will transition the existing Singularity platform into approved Visualization, Analytics, Data Lake (VANDL)/Common Analytic Environment (CAE).
Responsibilities include:
Interface and coordinate with all team members to enable the technical interface between Singularity and Slipstream and other systems
Perform a variety of engineering programming tasks to support stated goals
Analyze the requirements and design, code, integrate and test the software solution to the current code baseline. As additional code is written, further integration shall be required
Responsible for technical deliverables associated with application code development, including requirements documentation, functional design documents and specifications, work estimates, detailed and technical design documentation, application code and associated documentation, including documentation to fulfill audit requirements.
Required Education and Qualifications:
Education:
Have the minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or other documented education in software development obtained in an accredited institution.
Qualifications:
8-10 years of related experience.
Active Top Secret//SCI Security Clearance required for employment.
API build experience
Experience in one or more of the following: Java; JavaScript; Python; Apache Spark, ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Zeppelin
Experience developing web-based applications; utilizing Java
Experience in developing cloud hosted applications: Amazon Web Services cloud preferred
Experience working in an agile environment (Kanban and Scrum)
Requires a good working knowledge of information systems and applications in a DevOps environment; including Linux (Red Hat); Windows Server; Apache; and PostgreSQL
Experience providing technical solutions to complex problems in a within a team-centric environment.
Strong abilities to plan, lead, and implement the successful completion of major project initiatives and efforts, as required.
Good business communication skills. Position will require developing and giving presentations
