Asst. Manager, Club Sales - Membership and Events Job Opening in Hartford, Connecticut - Private City Club seeks Assistant Manager, Club Sales ? Membership and Events
Position Summary:
Reports to the General Manager and is responsible for Club sustainability through sales in the areas of membership and events. Develops and implements both traditional and new programs designed to recruit, retain and develop membership.
Position Characteristics:
The Assistant Manager, Club Sales has a wide range of responsibilities that require multiple internal and external relationships and connections. The membership component of responsibility and time is 75%. The goal is to recruit new members then engage them in a quality experience of Club benefits.
Event sales are 25% of the responsibilities and time. The Assistant Manager, Club Sales markets Club services and amenities, generates interest among members and in the community to plan and use the T&C for their events.
Essential Job Functions:
MEMBERSHIP
Initiate plans and programs for the member continuum. Develop and implement sales and management strategies for all aspects of Club membership from the initial onboarding: prospect identification, recruitment, application, orientation, development and retention.
Assist Club members with their membership recruitment goals.
Coordinate and communicate daily with General Manager, Assistant Manager, Club Services and Communications Manager.
Collaborate with committees to achieve goals.
Develop and maintain within Club software a robust, accurate and useful membership database. Provide tracking reports for all stages and monitor follow-through with each potential member in the pipeline.
SALES
Develop and implement marketing, sales, and strategies for events.
Initiate creative plans and programs that promote private party usage, social and business.
Actively market to members, local business, non-profits, wedding and event planners.
After initial sale, coordinate closely with Assistant Manager, Club Services to ensure the event is planned and implemented with appropriate Club pricing, services and resources.

Education and Experience: College degree in marketing, communications, business or related fields. Five years? sales experience or business development.
Reports to: General Manager
Supervises: No direct reports. Coordinates teams internal and external to the Cub.
Performance Review: Annual
Job Classification: Full Time, exempt. Some evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experienced sales professional with successful track record in membership and event sales. Ability to close with skill and sensitivity.
Track record of sales & marketing achievement, membership growth and profitable business contracting.
Detail-oriented for strategic planning and implementation of membership initiatives and event sales.
Enthusiastic, creative, outgoing, gracious and personable.
Prior private club experience preferred in membership, marketing and/or sales.
