Job Summary
The CFO will report to the general manager and shall have primary day-to-day responsibilities for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the POA. This will include preparing monthly financial statements, preparing the annual budget, forecasting and projecting as requested. The CFO will work in conjunction with the general manager regarding vendor relations and shall make recommendations regarding cost savings and revenue drivers.
Job Tasks (Duties)
Responsible for overall presentation of POA financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Oversee the A/P, A/R and G/L functions
Design and maintain accounting systems, procedures and controls
Coordinates with POA?s independent accounting firm regarding the annual audit, tax return preparation and other functions as needed.
Oversees the preparation of audit schedules, work papers and reconciliation as necessary for audit
Ensure all appropriate areas have proper inventory controls
Job costing analysis as necessary
Prepare budget for entire community
Review of monthly G/L
Establishes and maintains internal controls
Financial Responsibilities:
Responsible for insuring that POA investments are managed in accordance with the POA?s investment policies
Conducts periodic cost analysis and comparison
Prepares monthly & YTD analytical presentation
Responsible for managing the collections of accounts receivable
Prepares periodic financial projections
Manage the accounting for all capital fund accounting
Review all leases
Shall be the primary liaison and point of contact between the finance Committee, Treasurer, and General Manager
Work with departments heads to improve their processes, internal controls, revenue growth opportunities and opportunities for cost savings
Responsible for all long-term capital and reserve updates
Minimum Requirements:
CPA Preferred
5-10 years progressive experience in a CFO/Controller or similar role
Experience in private club or hospitality industry preferred
Strong Analytical Skills
Ability to consistently meet/exceed time deadlines
