Accounts Payable Accountant Job Opening in Towson, Maryland - Innovative, growing manufacturing company is looking to hire an Accounts Payable Accountant to their growing team. This opportunity offers extensive growth from within and is an opportunity to advance from a full-cycle AP function into a more dynamic Accounting role.
Responsibilities:
Review all types of invoices and expense reports for accuracy and completeness, including proper documentation and approval prior to payment.
Receive, analyze and code invoices to appropriate accounts in accounting system.
Process various invoices and expense reports in accounting system.
Match invoices to checks, obtain signatures for checks, and distribute checks accordingly.
Ability to handle AP inquiries and follow through to completion.
Assist in monthly and annual sub ledger and general ledger closings and accounts reconciliation.
Assist with tax reporting as needed.
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or the equivalent in education and experience is required
Ideal candidates will also have 3-5 years of accounting experience using financial software, reporting skills, and PC proficient
Highly motivated and self-driven, capable of working with little instruction to resolve demanding tasks and tight deadlines
