Cost Accountant Job Opening in Somerset, New jersey - As a Manufacturing Cost Accountant, you will maintain and supports all finance and accounting functions at the plant including finance reporting, operational reporting, and inventory control.
Responsible to implement both financial accounting and cost accounting system.
Assist with implementing & improving the effective ERP system in future.
Assist in the preparation of the annual manufacturing budget and standard costs
Performs special projects/analysis as required with emphasis on process improvement.
Manages preparation of annual departmental budgets at the plant level.
Assist with preparing analysis of plant financial data to quantify cost savings opportunities
Performs monthly close and provides financial reports to managers and plant personnel.
Performs and reviews journal imports from sub systems to general ledger.
Prepares and updates standard recurring entries and reconciles Balance Sheet accounts.
Develops and prepares supplemental daily, weekly, month-end, quarterly and annual reports for management.
Oversees plant inventories for accuracy and reserve requirements.
Assist with the annual physical inventory and fixed asset inventory conducted every three years
Assist with annual review and audit of internal control procedures to maintain SOX compliance and to minimize financial risk at the plant
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Broad knowledge of Business Administration and Financial & Cost Accounting
A minimum of 3 years? experience as a Manufacturing Cost Accountant valuing inventory and raw materials for a manufacturing company
