This is a unique and intensive on-the-job training program designed for individuals seeking initial licensure as a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Administrator or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) Administrator and a career as a health care the OpportunityThe Administrator in Training Program is a full-time, six-month program in which the AIT obtains practical on-the-job training in a nursing home or assisted living environment under the direct supervision of an experienced Administrator preceptor/mentor. Informal, small-group classroom and virtual instruction in nursing home or assisted living administration regulations and practices are also Administrator in Training program includes: rotation through the various departments and duties in a skilled nursing or assisted living facility; education on the interrelationships of the facility with outside parties and government agencies (such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services); and a study of regulations and requirements associated with the operation of a skilled nursing facility. Other topics of education for those in the AIT position include business/fiscal accounting management and principles of risk management and health care in Training candidates must meet the minimum regulatory requirements for licensure in their state of intended residence. Qualifications * Prior business management experience preferred. * MBA or MHA preferred, but other advanced degrees or a Bachelor?s Degree will be considered.
