SALES ENGINEER (SALES & MFG; HEAT EXCHANGE EXP.) Job Opening in Edgefield, South carolina - General Responsibilities:
This position is to provide assistance to the VP of Sales & Marketing in all aspects of managing the sales and marketing efforts. Duties will include working with an inside sales team and manufacturing to ensure that orders and invoices are entered correctly and on a timely basis and that quotations and drawings are sent promptly. This individual will assist the sales team to properly maintain customer service. The Sales Engineer will assist with forecasting, determine needs from customer requests and attend trade shows to meet customers and to solicit aftermarket business. This individual will be an integral and essential participant in achievement of the company?s goals, objectives and maintenance of acceptable levels of profitability, return on investment, and ongoing growth. Included in these responsibilities will be proactive involvement in pricing products so that profitability and margins are at levels required by the company. The Sales Engineer will assist in new business development by solicitation from potential aftermarket customers, companies that can self-manufacture products and customers purchasing from other sources. This position is responsible for adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and corporate/company policies and for establishing a culture that embraces continual improvement, cycle time reduction and employee involvement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in the establishment of the company?s strategic plans.
Assist in annual, quarterly and monthly forecast with notes to management relative to market trends.
Maintain routine customer contact by phone, fax, and email with active and potential customers.
Facility, coordinate and travel to key customers and potential customers.
Assist in writing, negotiating and administering long-term contracts with major accounts.
Review drawings submitted by OEM and after-market customers and suggest replacements. Determine pricing and submit proposals. Work closely with our engineering staff to ensure successful replacement of products in the field.
Continually monitor prices and develop strategies to maintain desired profitability.
Solicit new business from various industrial companies through direct contacts and trade shows.
Assist in updating and developing company trade literature.
Assist team with determining trade show participation and facilitate same. Follow up with potential customers.
Facilitate customer visits to company.
Monitor competitor?s activities and keep management and staff apprised of their products, pricing and possible threat to the company?s goals.
Work closely with the QA department and manufacturing staff to first make them aware of customer complaints and then to resolve the issues to company?s and the customers? satisfaction.
As production schedules are adjusted in or out, advise customers so that they will have adequate time to make changes in their manufacturing schedules.
Assist in determining annual operating budget for sales and marketing group.
Assist in making sure the sales depart adheres to ISO procedures and make changes to procedures as required.
Qualifications:
BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalency in a technical field that relates to the company?s product line.
Entry Level and Up experience in engineering or sales and marketing. (Preferably 1-3 yrs' experience in Field Engineering or if not have some Co-op Experience in the Utilities Industry).
The individual must have demonstrated exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills in a team environment.
Computer proficiency is mandatory.
Ambition and desire to work in a dynamic sales and marketing position in an organization of increasing size and complexity.
Bilingual skills are helpful, but not necessary.
