JOB TITLE
Medical Records Review Coordinator
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Medical Record Review Coordinator is responsible for establishing processes and
reporting methodologies to provide accurate and concise medical record review data for the purpose of determining donor potential and assessing hospital performance via objective, statistical measurements. In addition, the Medical Record Review Coordinator is also responsible for the development and maintenance of strong working relationships with hospital medical records staff and key hospital contacts; thereby increasing the visibility of Donor Network West and promoting organ and tissue donation.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following skills and abilities:
Bachelor?s degree in a related field (nursing, applied health) and/or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical, hospital or OPO setting is required.
Knowledge of diseases and medical terminology is required. Ability to evaluate medical records to determine the presence or absence of brain function, organ function,infectious disease processes, autoimmune disease, communicable disease agents and certain cancers.
Ability to utilize interpersonal communication skills to establish positive relationships with external partners.
Experience with hospital records strongly preferred, such as experience in the area of Health Information Management, health research and data analysis, utilization review, or similar healthcare experience with familiarity of medical records and medical terminology.
Ability to collect and document information in a sequential, accurate and timely manner required.
Strong organizational skills required.
Quality assurance/quality control experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
LOCATION and HOURS
This position is located in San Ramon, CA. The work hours are normally during regular business hours. Some flexibility required.
