Software Engineer I Job Opening in Carrollton, Texas - Osprey Video has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer I in our Carrollton, TX office reporting to the Senior Software Engineer. The Software Engineer will be assisting with the development of the next generation of audio/video capture card drivers for the Windows/Linux operating systems. This position will also be responsible for developing new testing tools as well as maintaining the existing software applications.

Job Responsibilities
Maintains and enhances existing audio/video capture card software for Windows and Linux operating systems.
Works closely with Senior Software/Hardware engineers on new capture card software features and design implementations.
Develops cross-platform software development kit for in-house as well as 3rd party vendors.
Develops cross-platform A/V test tools for in-house and 3rd party vendors.
Maintains and enhances existing board testing and verification software.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
C++ software development experience in a mixed Windows and Linux environment.
Linux Scripting (Bash, KSH) experience.
Strong multi-threaded development experience.
Strong demonstrable analytical problem solving and production diagnostic skills.
Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written.*
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Streaming media protocols (H.264, Flash, etc?)
Windows C# /WPF application development
OOP/OOA knowledge and a willingness to use it to develop large complex systems.
A strong desire to learn new technology and teach others.
Willingness to jump in and help out in all facets of the software development life cycle, even if it is outside of your core area of expertise.
