Patient Coordinator Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - Sibley Heart Center Cardiology is composed of more than 50 pediatric cardiologists providing comprehensive services for patients from before birth to age 21 who have acquired or congenital heart disease. The Patient Coordinator provides a high level of patient satisfaction through great customer service and anticipating the patient?s needs while coordinating all aspects of patient care to include registering and greeting patients, verifying insurance and handling referrals.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or associates degree required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare required.
Background in healthcare administration preferred.
Pediatric or family practice experience preferred.
Working knowledge of medical office software; EPIC experience preferred.
Working experience with insurance processes required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on strong data entry skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with co-workers.
Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and follow-through discipline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Welcome patients and families to clinic.
Provide patient satisfaction by delivering great customer service and anticipating patient needs.
Answer incoming calls for requests, directions and multiple inquires.
Facilitate the coordination of patient information including insurance carriers, other payers or verification of insurance eligibility.
Enter relevant patient information into EPIC/EMR system.
Obtain information for managed care patients.
Instruct patients regarding financial policies.
Collect all applicable payments from patients at time of service.
Accurately maintain and balance daily receipts with monies collected; complete and fax daily cash reconciliation form to reimbursement at the end of each day; prepare and make bank deposits.
Print and maintain updated ?Department Appointment Report?.
Make daily updates to the ?Customer Service communication? clinic boards with correct physician, staff and team member names.
Assist co-workers in completion of duties when time allows; share information with co-workers.
Protect patient?s rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Schedule patient appointments when appropriate.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
