Lead Diesel Control Software Engineer Job Opening in Dearborn, Michigan - This is a Lead Diesel Control System Engineer role with primary focus on defining Diesel Engine control software requirements for new applications.
This role is responsible for delivering CAN network, Service Diagnostics, HMI, EOL and vehicle manufacturing plant requirements for all NA heavy duty Diesel applications.
Candidate should have strong knowledge and trouble-shooting skills in Engine control and diagnostics software, preferably Bosch or Continental platform Diesel software
Primary responsibilities:
Define, Implement and Test - Control, Diagnostics, Service and Regulatory software(SW) requirements for Diesel Engine control software.
Trouble-shoot - Controls and Diagnostics issues related to Diesel Engine control system.
Lead Software issue resolution - Root cause analysis using Vehicle/HIL testing, prototype SW development using ATI No-Hooks Simulink block sets, verify software solution and plan production implementation.
Support Calibration team on software documentation, calibration methodology, issue investigation, supplier coordination and joint software validation.
Single point contact(SPC) for all CAN related software development.
Responsibilities include defining, testing and trouble-shooting CAN signal, and CAN diagnostics software requirements.
Lead weekly meetings with Service and EOL teams.
Lead Part-II(Service tool communication protocol) requirements development for NA applications.
Support DV testing of Service functions.
Support Field Warranty data analysis.
SPC for all FCSD, vehicle EOL and manufacturing plants.
Lead implementation of Candela on all global applications - Gasoline, Diesel and Hybrid applications.
Manage CAN Network Identifiers for all NA Diesel programs.
Develop and implement SW test plans for new features, using HIL and Vehicle testing methods.
Support sub-system design and development meetings.
Knowledge and experience using SW robustness tools like, Boundary Diagrams, P-Diagrams, Robustness Checklists(RCL), FMEA, FMEM, etc.
Ability to present technical issues for management review, in a clear and concise manner.
Primary Skills Preferred:
Knowledge of Bosch or Continental Diesel Engine SW.
Experience Required:
Experience with CAN tools
CANalyzer, CANoe and other Vector hardware Ex: CANcase or VN1610.
Experience with INCA, Vision or CANope.
Strong/Expert knowledge in Candela implementation and associated processes.
Experience using Powertrain Service and Engineering Diagnostic tools.
Proficiency in modeling, simulation, and testing techniques
Education Required:
Bachelors Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
Education Preferred:
Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
