Corporate Staff Accountant Job Opening in Cleveland, Ohio - Overall Responsibility
The role of the Staff Accountant is to participate in the preparation of the overall accounting activities related to the production of accurate US GAAP financial statements for WME-IMG by both legal entity and business segment. This role will be integral to the maintenance of Master Data in SAP ECC. The individual will be required to work with various teams within Corporate: Accounting, Consolidations and FP&A. The Staff Accountant will request technical guidance from management to help ensure internal controls and timeliness in financial reporting within the global finance function.
Key areas of responsibility
Financial Master Data Administration
G/L accounts, Profit Centers, Cost Centers, Cost Elements, Hierarchies and FSV
Routing of requests for Financial MD appropriately
Communication with requestors to ensure completeness of requests
Working with BPC Teams to ensure appropriate execution of request
Maintain reporting of master data changes in system against requests received
Assist Consolidations team with Opening/Closing of ledgers during peak periods of close
Prepare and distribute the monthly reporting packs templates to entities
Preparing quarterly Balance Sheet and Income Statement analytic files
Support validation of BPC data, as needed
Provide back-up support to the Corporate Accounting and Consolidations teams, as needed
Special project as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
0-2 years of general experience in similar capacity
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; especially MS Excel, and working knowledge of financial systems (SAP preferred), statement and reports
Strong Excel skills are required
Excellent communication and relations building skills and the ability to proactively work in teams with a high attention to detail and ability to prioritize and balance work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment with high level of responsibility and ownership
Ability to work independently and critical thinking
Working toward additional Certification and/or MBA preferred
