Director of Community Relations Job Opening in Staten Island, New york - Harbor Terrace Assisted Living, located in Staten Island, is one of New York State's largest affordable assisted living providers serving over 300 residents who have Social Security and Medicaid as primary payment for services. As such, we seek an experienced Director of Community Relations to interface daily with nursing homes, shelters, social services agencies and community providers to foster professional discharge planning with these entities and to drive appropriate resident referrals to Harbor Terrace. Current facility referral sources span the metro New York area including, Staten Island, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx.
In following, Harbor Terrace seeks a qualified and experienced candidate to lead community relations, resident admissions and census development, by successfully liaising with all referral sources by responding to all referral sources timely, successfully and upon short notice. The position is charged with "opening doors" and ensuring continuity in professional networking with all sites, thereby ensuring active and steady ongoing communication and referrals from all relevant providers.
The Director of Community Relations will be supported by Senior Staff in all efforts but must be self motivated and have a strong work ethic, with the ability to foster credibility and respect from all referral sources. Eligible candidates include experienced social workers, long term care and healthcare professionals, and related sales professionals. This position will work closely with senior management and social services staff to ensure that follow up and resident admissions occur timely and as expected. All applicants must be very effective communicators in writing and by phone, highly organized, and able to conduct presentations as needed in a group setting.

The position reports to the Facility administrator to ensure that outreach goals are met within reasonable time frames.
