Level III Accountant Job Opening in Detroit, Michigan - Accountant III are expected to perform overviews of the daily financial operations in order to help the finance department functions run efficiently.
Responsible for the accounting functions of a large department. Accountant III are expected to prepare and examine financial records. Responsibility included, but not limited to:
Performing difficult and complex technical accounting work.
Properly journalize accounting transactions.
Accounting system maintenance including cost allocations.
Prepared monthly reconciliations of bank and ledger accounts.
All aspects of internal and external financial reporting including annual closing, analysis and audit assistance.
Assistance with grants management, accounting and reporting.
Successfully execute special projects as needed
Knowledge of governmental accounting. At least five years of progressive experience in accounting and finance. Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or business administration. Certifications Preferred: CPA, CIA, CMA,CFE, MBA
Job Type: Appointed 1yr with strong possibility of extension. Paid Vacation and Paid Sick time is an earned benefit
