Database Job Opening in seattle, Washington - Database POSITION: Database OVERVIEW: Compact Information Systems has an opening for a full-time database manager/programmer. This position will be responsible for maintaining our in-house databases. Candidate will be required to do weekly/monthly file maintenance and updates using MS Visual FoxPro, MS SQL and MySQL in a Windows and Linux environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage requests for day-to-day administration of our MS SQL/MySQL and FoxPro databases. Insure the accuracy of the database information and control the day-to-day maintenance. Plan and execute data conversions and migrations to and from SQL and FoxPro. Manage FoxPro tables and perform queries on said tables. Modify FoxPro, Visual Basic and C# programs that manage in-house databases. Respond to in-house requests for information from internal Visual FoxPro and SQL databases. Work with management to develop enhanced data quality schemes. Understand and implement MySQL database optimization in a corporate environment. Ability to perform advanced queries on our in-house databases. QUALIFICATIONS: 3 years paid experience in MS SQL, MySQL, Visual Basic and MS Visual FoxPro. Have working knowledge of ColdFusion, PHP, JavaScript, Java, C and C#. EDUCATION: Education: BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience preferred.
