IT Security Specialist Job Opening in Vienna, Virginia - IT Security Specialist performs security control assessments of all client systems. These assessments include the use of various technical tools to identify known vulnerabilities, review technical and administrative documentation, discussion and interviews with ISSO and technical personnel; manual assessment of security controls to identify risks and exposures; and documenting the results of the assessment using the clients report template.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform, participate and support all assessment and authorization (A&A) efforts for systems, applications and networks IAW NIST and DHS requirements.
Serve as security control assessor (SCA) for the formal security assessment engagement to include assessing compliance of security controls, conducting vulnerability assessment scans and providing guidance regarding remediation and mitigation of identified vulnerabilities and exposures
Develop reports and supporting artifacts such as the Rules of Engagement (RoE), Security Assessment Plan (SAP) and Security Assessment Report (SAR).
Deliver presentations to the client on the security assessment results.
Must be able to regularly exercise discretion, independent judgment and must always promote a team environment with a positive attitude.
Required Qualifications:
US Citizen
Bachelors? Degree in Information Assurance or a similar degree
At least 2 years of prior Security Assessment Experience against NIST 800-53
Advanced understanding of information security concepts and architectures and development and other technologies
Experience with vulnerability assessment tools
Experience with FISMA, FedRAMP and NIST C&A processes
Preferred Qualifications:
CISSP, CISM or GIAC Certification
Secret/Top Secret or DHS EOD clearance
