EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Having a High school Diploma or GED.
EDUCATION PREFERENCE
Interested in pursuing a career as a healthcare professional.
Understand base knowledge of medical abbreviations and terminology.
Volunteer or work hours in a clinical setting.
DUTIES
Provide documentation services to your assigned provider; documenting the entire note.
Provide chart review or patient record assistance while working with your assigned provider.
Communicate in a professional and respectful manner to your assigned provider, his staff, and patients.
Continue education through clinical experiences to enhance skills and knowledge in the promotion of quality documentation.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to document patient care as dictated by a physician in a legible and clear manner, following all local, state, and federal guidelines for documentation.
Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing HIPAA regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Normal vision (or corrected vision) and hearing.
Adequate knowledge of computer usage and ability to tolerate viewing on computer monitors for extended periods of time.
Ability to type at an efficient rate capable of accurately documenting dictations.
Ability to carry a laptop (weighing less than 10 lbs) in and out of patient rooms.
