Accountant/ Accounting Manager/ Controller/ Full Charge Book... Job Opening in Stillwater, Oklahoma - We are currently seeking a full-time Accounting Manager. The position requires accounting work of some difficulty including the maintenance of a complete set of accounts and fiscal records for the capture and summarization of financial transactions utilizing an advanced use of a computerized, industry specific management system. Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and procedures is a position requirement. This is a very hands-on position responsible for the operation of all accounting related functions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Cash Management, Receivables, Inventory, Payables & Regulatory Compliance
Prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile accounting reports and media from point of sale cash drawers with currency, checks and credit cards receipts .
Monitor and maintain trade accounts receivable and contracts in transit .
Maintain vendor records and track outstanding payables to optimize cash flow and take full advantage of discounts or other favorable payment terms.
Examine and distribute vendor invoices and other payment requests to appropriate general ledger account classifications .
Issue checks for payment of inventory purchases, supplies, services and customer accommodations.
Comply with all taxing authority requirements.
Make timely deposits of required sales taxes and file all sales tax returns as required.
General Ledger
Prepare and review monthly trial balances and general ledger detail postings.
Investigate all anomalies or errors and prepare general journal entries to adjust accounts and reports to appropriate amounts.
Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records on a monthly basis. Auditing, Reporting & Financial Analysis
Resolve accounting issues as they arise in the daily processing of all transactions. * Complete all month-end close procedures.
Prepare and review monthly trial balances, general ledger detail postings, financial statements and other financial reports and statistics.
Produce reviewed financial reports on a timely basis to management.
Qualifications & Job Requirements
A degree in accounting is preferred (but not required for the perfect applicant). We prefer at least 2 years of experience as an accounting manager or similar, for a small to medium size company. Automobile dealership experience is a plus. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively to resolve problems with customers, employees and owner.
