TechWave International is a startup IT company to provide biomedical data integration and analysis solutions for academic organizations. We are located in TMC Innovation.
We are looking for a full stack PHP web developer intern to work on NIH funded projects. This could be your best chance to work on latest technology (Cloud, Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, NLP and more) in a supercharged startup environment. We don?t expect you to match 100% with the job description however you must be a quick learner. You are able to work 10-20 hours/week, possibly more depending on projects.
We are also welcome foreign students who can acquire work authorization (OPT or CPT) to apply for this internship.
Responsibility:
Backend development, mainly PHP, sometimes Java and Python
Frontend development, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
MySql Database schema design, NoSQL Database is plus
Linux and Apache administration
End-to-end design, development and testing of the assigned modules
Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly while maintaining attention to detail
Come to office 1-2 days a week, work at home rest of the time
Requirement:
Pursuing BS/MS/ PHD in Computer Science, MIS, bioinformatics, biomedical or related fields
One year experience of LAMP Web applications
Familiar with software development lifecycle
Good communication skills, innovative, entrepreneurial, positive attitude
Ready to learn new technology and have lots of fun
Must be local to Houston Area
