Part Time Sales Leader Job Opening in Wilmington, Delaware - The Sales Leader is responsible for managing the store in the absence of the Store Sales Manager and Assistant Sales Manager. This non-exempt position also assists in the day-to-day running of the store.
Job Duties and Functions
Goals Achievement:
· Demonstrate leadership in driving sales and profitability by achieving all established store and individual goals, KPI?s.
· Monitor and evaluate individual performance in the following areas: sales volume, hourly production, units per transaction (UPTs), charge accounts, loss prevention, CPS capture
Sales Management/Customer Service/Selling Skills:
· Ensure effective execution of sales productivity programs.
· Personally demonstrate high level of customer service.
· Maximize use of all customer service tools.
Human Skills:
· Demonstrate proper leadership skills to assist Store Sales Manager /Assistant Sales Manager in managing the store?s staff, as necessary.
· Assist Store Sales Manager/ Assistant Sales Manager in training associates.
· Be aware of Company payroll hour allocation for store and, in the absence of the Store Sales Manager/ Assistant Sales Manager; use the hours to provide proper floor coverage.
· Be knowledgeable of and able to complete all payroll procedures.
· Demonstrate professionalism when dealing with customer and/or associate
· Exhibit sound decision-making skills and perform with a minimum of supervision.
· Identify problems and opportunities and discuss them with Store Sales Manager.
· Follow all Company policies and procedures, and set a positive example for associates. Assist Store Sales Manager/ Assistant Sales Manager in communicating policies and procedures to associates and monitoring compliance.
· Effectively manage own time and, in absence of Store Sales Manager /Assistant Sales Manager, associates ensuring a smooth workflow.
· Meet Company standards for personal grooming, performance and knowledge.
Merchandise Management/Visual Merchandising:
· Assist Store Sales Manager /Assistant Sales Manager in directing and maintaining merchandise presentation according to Visual Merchandising standards and current floor set.
· Understand and communicate customer merchandise needs and recognize when the store?s merchandise assortment meets, and fails to meet, these needs.
· Work with the Store Sales Manager to ensure markdowns and merchandise transfers are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Housekeeping:
· Maintain general housekeeping standards.
· Ensure that cash wrap area remains neat and organized.
· Clean and organize stockroom, receiving area and restrooms.
Loss Prevention:
· Assist Store Sales Manager/ Assistant Sales Manager in training and enforcing security policies and procedures, including zone defense.
· Ensure the securing of Company funds as outlined in the Operations Policy and Procedure Manual.
· Ensure consistent control of merchandise in and out of the fitting rooms.
· Ensure bank deposits are made as directed.
· Ensure safety of associates by identifying dangerous situations and reporting them to the Store Sales Manager, DSM and Regional Loss Prevention Manager.
· Properly process register functions and ensure, as directed, that they are properly followed in the store.
Store Operations:
· Assist Store Sales Manager/Assistant Sales Manager in ensuring store meets Company standards for cleanliness, both on the sales floor and in the non-sales areas.
· Ensure that all layaways, where applicable, and holds are current and that appropriate deposits are made.
· Assist Store Sales Manager/ Assistant Sales Manager in controlling inventory and expenses, effectively using supplies, reducing overhead and ensuring timeliness, accuracy and legibility of paperwork, etc.
· Assist Store Sales Manager/ Assistant Sales Manager in directing staff in handling of merchandise receipts and transfers, including checking in, hanging, steaming and EAS placement.
· Effectively set up sales/promotions with proper signing in a timely manner.
Training:
· Train associates as assigned by Store Sales Manager/ Assistant Sales Manager.
· Communicate merchandise knowledge, including features and benefits of all company programs to staff on a regular basis. Ensure staff is properly trained using this information.
· Assist Store Sales Manager/ Assistant Sales Manager in communicating changes in store policies and procedures to staff, and ensure that changes are implemented correctly.
· Assist Store Sales Manager/ Assistant Sales Manager in ensuring that customer profile information is accurately keyed into the register.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· High school diploma or equivalent. Some college a plus.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage people, maintaining integrity and trust.
· Accuracy in all assigned paperwork.
· Strong visual merchandising abilities.
· Must present a professional appearance and personal grooming.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to bend, reach, squat, and stand for up to 4 hours or longer as required.
· Ability to use common tools.
· Able to operate computerized register system.
· Must be able to meet store-banking requirements and to respond to store alarm problems, as needed.
· Able to lift as much as 50 pounds.
· Able to climb an 8-foot ladder.
