Accountant/Bookkeeper-Office Assistant Job Opening in Charlestown, Massachusetts - Growing marine construction company is looking for a (32 hours/week with the potential for full-time) Bookkeeper/Office Assistant to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and office duties. Must be Quickbooks proficient, very meticulous to detail and highly organized.
The candidate must have at least 2 years in small business bookkeeping in a construction company environment. General office and clerical duties will be part of the responsibilities of the position.
Accountant?s responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will also utilize accounting software programs including QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to process business transactions, manage accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts.
Responsibilities:
Able to multi-task
Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable
Contract documents to include certificate of insurance, lien waivers, certified payroll/OCIP/CCIP and familiar with AIA documents.
Coordinate payroll through third party payroll company
Report union dues weekly
Prepare client invoices
Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
Monthly reconciliation of accounts in a timely manner
Entry of key data of financial transactions in database
Prepare cost reports for projects
Mail, licensing, recertification, compliance documents and insurance renewal and audit
Must work well with others
Requirements:
Proven accounting experience
Competency in QuickBooks; Microsoft Office and Excel
Experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Well organized with willingness to perform filing and record keeping tasks
Data entry and word processing skills
Minimum Associates Degree in accounting
2 years construction company experience
Salary: Salary is negotiable and dependent upon experience Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance with full-time employment with other benefits 401K after a year
