Position Summary
The Cost Accountant ensures the integrity and accuracy of all accounting and financial files of the organization. Primary focus will be creating an analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Manages budgets, Bills of Material accuracy, Raw Material/Other Inventory purchases, and other measurable KPI?s. Provides general accounting and financial support for the organization. Coordinates, strategizes, and makes recommendations to Senior Leadership using measurable analytics. Supports overall goals and initiatives of the Company.
Responsibilities
Build, track, and analyze actual costs of production on a consistent basis.
Prepare all monthly Financial Reporting requirements.
Measure, analyze, and interpret profitability by business segment.
Reconcile and record inventory balances...
Develop costing models for items in production to ensure profitability.
Prepare monthly inventory budgets and costing forecasts.
Evaluate monthly inventory turns and inventory days on hand.
Develop, maintain and distribute as-hoc reports and financial models as needed.
Education, Skills & Requirements
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Minimum 4 years? experience in financial/cost accounting analyst capacity.
Understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls.
Highly motivated individual with ability to work in fast and dynamic work environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Excel and other equivalents.
