Sr. Network Architect Job Opening in Columbia, South carolina - Position : Sr. Network Architect

EXPERIENCE WITH MAINTAINING AND SUPPORTING ORACLE DATABASES. Hours per week will vary. Some weeks the hours may be more than 20, others weeks much less, sometimes nothing.
Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
will have 24/7 unattended access to the scdot virtual applications server to perform installation updates, support, problem diagnostics & resolution, patches, and navigating administration functions for the latest releases of p6 (client or web) applications.
must be able to provide support and guidance to p6 users, scdot it systems staff, scdot engineering technology & research staff and work with the oracle vendor as needed for application issues, database issues, maintenance, installations and upgrades.
analyze user requests and software requirements for feasibility of design and potential impact. assist more experienced system development/support personnel in developing solutions to customer related requests and/or system problems.
will provide training and mentoring for existing or new users as needed on how to use new software features or updates by phone support, virtual training or classroom training.
Required Skills :
experience in design and development of primavera p6
strong knowledge of primavera p6 architecture
experience with maintaining and supporting oracle databases, analyzation and correction of errors
to maximize availability and uptime
experience with java, oracle, sql queries, stored procedures
up-to-date knowledge of related infrastructure components and/or operating environment
strong knowledge in different kinds of database, system integrations
verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills :
strong analytical, computer, and interpersonal skills
strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
basic ability to work independently and manage one's time as well as being a collaborative team member
