Accountant Job Opening in Overland Park, Kansas - Summary of Responsibilities
Assist the CFO in the duties of the accounting department with regard to corporate financial matters.
Maintain all systems involving accounting or financial issues of PBN clients whose contract requires such services.
Essential Functions
Client accounting duties including but not limited to:
Maintain daily cash reconciliation, to include recording all cash transactions and establishing system for accruing for annual costly expenditures. i.e. Malpractice Insurance, Bonuses, Profit Sharing contributions.
Oversee accounts payable.
Responsible for all aspects of payroll to include shareholder distributions, overtime records, officer compensation etc.
Monthly Bank Reconciliations, including balancing bank activity to billing receipts and disbursements.
Prepare monthly financial statements, in particular Balance Sheet, Income Statement, G/L Trial Balance, Budget to actual and other reports as requested.
Handle new and exiting employee duties for client.
Assist client, as necessary, with obtaining Health, Dental Disability, Life, Malpractice, Work Comp and Misc. Business Insurance.
Maintain sub-ledgers for specific accounts relating to client?s needs.
Work with third party administrators in the necessary reporting of census information for calculations and distributions of Profit Sharing/401K contributions.
Corporate accounting duties including but not limited to:
Preparation of invoices for client services.
Ensure financial transactions are recorded properly and timely (e.g. payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger).
Assist in strategic planning (e.g. budget, projections, cost containment).

Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in accounting or business required
Must have excellent skills in Microsoft Office ? especially use of Excel Spreadsheets
Must be detail oriented and possess good verbal skills
Must be skilled in working with confidential financial and numeric data
Experience with Peachtree Accounting/Sage 50 desirable
