Sr. Operations Business Analyst Job Opening in Owings Mills, Maryland - PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Under the general supervision of the Manager and/or Lead Analyst, the incumbent?s accountabilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Interpret business needs and issues by gathering, analyzing, documenting and validating the Business area?s user and technical requirements. Investigate and analyze feasibility of low to moderately complex enhancements, automations and processes identifying improvement opportunities. Participate in the creation of moderate to complex Requirements Documents. Participate in requirements analysis and verification sessions for complex projects and may lead requirements analysis and verification sessions for simple to moderate complexity projects. Makes recommendations to management regarding approvals with identifying any open conditions as applicable.
Participate in user acceptance testing, auditing of test results and file loads following defined standards. Develop UAT test case scenarios of simple complexity and validate those test cases are executed and results are documented according to standards.
Serve as the intake point for business area issues stemming from systems problems, identify cause of problems and work with appropriate groups to correct problems. Serve as Accountable and/or Responsible analyst for moderate to high complexity/impact technical and/or business issues. Participate in the tracking and management of open issues and resolve moderate to high complex issues. Use project management techniques to monitor and ensure deliverables of high quality, effectiveness and timeliness. Accurately completes and submits status reports
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or 4+ years of relevant work experience Work Experience: 3+ years of relevant work experience in business/systems analysis or testing Required Abilities/Skills:
Proven ability to elicit, document, analyze and verify requirements.
Strong experience with testing concepts.
Technical writing experience and training experience.
Demonstrated successful use of SDLC methodology or demonstrated knowledge of business processes related to the business area supported.
Must demonstrate understanding of Business Analysis Best Practices.
Advanced level knowledge of at least one Health Plan Core Functions (Sales, Enrollment/Billing or Claims) or proficient level in more than one Core function.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lead simple problem-solving discussions.
Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft office software such as Word, Power Point, Visio, and Excel.
Advanced knowledge of Project Management concepts
Excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow set priorities
Technical writing experience and training experience. Must be able to effectively work in a fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time. Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence.
Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to internal teams at CareFirst.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The associate is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position. Occasional walking or standing is required. The hands are regularly used to write, type, key and handle or feel small controls and objects. The associate must frequently talk and hear. Weights of up to 25 pounds are occasionally lifted.
