Senior Software Engineer Job Opening in Danbury, Connecticut - new requirements for the integration of new technologies and the reduction in Operator dependence.
Works with the engineering team in the specification and development of the next generation of test system software.
Provides global support of the applications including international installation, testing and commissioning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops and maintains the 1900/1950 DCC rail inspection MS Windows real-time acquisition and operations application particularly focused on new requirements for interfacing to new sub-systems and user display modules.
Builds understanding of the core operation of the DCC to be able to help support and maintain the central functions including creating new documentation of the design and functionality of the application and its associated utilities.
Works with the engineering team in the specification and development of the next generation of the test system applications.
Works to the company development and product acceptance procedures with the formal factory and site testing of new versions of software and systems.
Provides global support of the applications by assisting Field Support with the installation, testing and commissioning.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: At least 10 years? experience in a time-critical engineering application development position with customer support.
Qualification: Degree level in an IT/Computer/Math related subject.
: Excellent multi-tasking real-time application development skills using Object Oriented techniques with C++ in MS Windows.
: Excellent documentation skills working in quality controlled standard working practices.
: Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Skills/Competencies: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
