Position : DHS Group is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Engineering team.

Primary duties and responsibilities (but not limited to):
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Ability to perform Quality Assurance across the software platform
Ability to work with outside contractors
Create mockups and prototypes for new product features
Ability to manage, schedule, and perform code releases across different environments (QA, staging, production)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, or other related disciplines
The ideal candidate will have 2?5 years of experience in software development
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required & Preferred:
Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and Elixir and its nuances
Good understanding of asynchronous requests using AJAX
Proficient in HTML, CSS, and Javascript (Good understanding of Bootstrap is a plus)
Solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming paradigms
Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful
Experience with popular web application frameworks such as Rails, Phoenix, and Thin
Knack for writing clean, readable Ruby and Elixir code
Experience with both external and embedded databases
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Experience with MySQL and Elasticsearch
Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
Implementation of automated testing platforms and unit tests (rspec, Jenkins, Travis)
Proficient understanding of code versioning in Git
Familiarity with development aiding tools such as Mix, Rake, Bundler
Familiarity with continuous integration
Strong understanding of REST-based APIs particularly in conjunction with data collected via IoT devices
Demonstrated ability to work with RabbitMQ and distributed message systems
Experience with OAuth, HMAC, Basic and other forms of API authentication
Ability to live at the Linux command line
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $50,000.00 to $65,000.00 /year
