Senior Production Engineer - Test/Performance /Site Pre-build Coordinator is a broad term for a position that focuses on bringing together employees, products, clients and other resources for a company. You will work with minimal supervision, provide engineering support and process improvement.
SUMMARY
Works with Prototype lead to ensure all new propellant lots are pre built in a timely manner (PPI, DI10, and SPI2).
Works with Applications, Engineering leads to attain recommendations on propellant loads. Update portal with needed information to support production builds.
Monitor all technologies to determine ballistics trends and shifts in performance.
Root cause failure analysis to determine reason for test errors.
Gather ballistic curve data for internal customers as needed
May assist in audit responsibilities within a plant.
Design and setup electronic and mechanical equipment to perform special or non-routine engineering tests.
Perform/Assist with weekly engineering testing.
Schedule non-routine engineering testing.
Direct engineering test technicians on a regular basis, ensuring testing is correctly performed on all shifts.
Implement changes as needed in lab routines, modification of test set-ups, stress reduction methods for the benefit of the technicians and labor savings.
Conduct or assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
May assign tasks to the electronic and mechanical technicians.
Specify and develop procedures for test equipment required to support engineering and production testing.
Conduct or assist in software development for ballistic testing.
Work with design engineering for fixture development and lab modifications.
Create and review new test procedures and make revisions to current procedures.
Interface with Engineering to accomplish testing requirements and develop test plans.
Write engineering reports to qualify new and improved data acquisition systems and test methods.
Coordinate contracted work with vendors and outside test laboratories.
Assure quality of test data and data collection devices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, EDUCATION AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS.
Basic computer systems, PLC and hand tools.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
Safety, Environmental, Safety Meetings, Safety Inspections, Regulations and Practices.
Continuous improvement activities and Lean principles in efforts to reduce variation in our products and our processes.
Incident Investigations and Corrective Actions.
Protective Equipment.
Waste and Wastewater Management.
Operations and Maintenance of Equipment.
Pollution Prevention.
Regulatory Updates.
Must have hand dexterity at moderate speed with accuracy.
Requires continuous walking.
Must be able to work in all areas of the plant, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Hair substance abuse screening test and background check.
Bachelors in Engineering Degree.
3 - 8 years of Lab/Mfg. Environment.
