Corporate Controller Job Opening in Baltimore, Maryland - The Controller manages the accounting function to ensure that it is providing effective and efficient service to external customers. This individual reports directly to the President and is responsible for managing and overseeing all facets of our accounting operations, including the monthly close cycle, and financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the month-end close process and related accounting activities.
Establish, implement, and monitor appropriate policies to ensure conformance and compliance with US GAAP and other statutory requirements.
Prepare cost analysis, and reconciles revenues to ensure appropriate income/cash flow.
Prepare annual budget and analysis, in addition to the presentation of monthly financial statements.
Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts.
Prepare financial information and reports for management
Provide assistance to all management staff related to the performance of financial management matters.
Work with leadership to build revenue and cost models.
Identify and analyze trends, issues and opportunities in the business.
Support the President with compilation of reports relating to the financial operations.
Implement and use payroll software and systems to support the corporation?s goals.
Support and interact with outside accountants
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor?s degree required; preferably in in accounting or an MBA
CPA Preferred
Minimum 5-7 years accounting experience, some public experience preferred
Minimum of 4 years experience managing other accountants
Minimum 3 years as a controller
Proficient with Mircosoft Office applications
Netsuite experience preferred
Payroll Service experience preferred
Capable of operating in a fast paced environment, self-motivated and detail oriented
Proven track record of adding value
