We are seeking a Program Director (Registered Nurse / RN) to lead our geriatric behavioral health team in Beloit, KS (170 miles south of Omaha).
The Program Director is responsible for the overall administration of the inpatient geriatric behavioral health program with assistance from the Director of Nursing. This includes, but is not limited to:
(1) developing, marketing, implementation and evaluation of high quality, operationally efficient, and cost effective treatment programs and community relations programs;
(2) formulating and administering comprehensive business plans, policies, procedures, program goals and operating budgets;
(3) providing leadership, support, organization, facilitation, problem solving and guidance to DON and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Organizes and oversees the work of clinical, nursing and administrative support staff. Provides leadership including program development and ongoing evaluation.
Prepares business plans and budgets and administers annual personnel, equipment and supply budgets necessary to carry out effective programs. Monitors budgets, expenditures, revenues and clinical productivity.
Manages Behavioral Health Services resources including time, finances, employees, space and supplies.
Serves as a resource to staff, interpreting Company's philosophy, goals, standards, policies and procedures. Maintains department policies and procedures that comply with local, state and federal standards.
Assists in establishing new programs, policies and operating procedures, and the refinement of existing programs and policies.
Interviews, hires, trains and evaluates the performance of staff members, corrects and recommends discharge of personnel, when necessary.
Responsible for the development and execution of a marketing plan. Writes/finalizes program reports, marketing materials, announcements and correspondence.
Ensures that effective procedures are established and followed that promote productive liaison relationships with referral sources and managed healthcare systems in the referral, admission, treatment, utilization and discharge processes within the Behavioral/Mental Health services modalities.
Represents the geri-psych unit at hospital meetings and acts as liaison with other departments regarding program and organization policy matters with host hospital.
Provides training and professional development needs for clinical and nursing staff to ensure clinical competence and to promote job satisfaction.
Completes all other duties as assigned.
Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.
Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times.
Maintains the confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational information.
Qualifications:
Prefer Master?s degree in the behavioral sciences, or health administration. Bachelor?s degree in nursing or Diploma in Nursing acceptable with appropriate nursing and management experience.
Previous experience in health patient care units preferred
Familiarity with medical forms, computer software, and equipment
Ability to build rapport with patients, their families, hospital staff, and outlying community
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
A positive, team-building management style
