Board of Director Job Opening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Looking to appointment a board of director(s) for a Christian non-profit venture capital fund, based in Baton Rouge, LA, for immediate appointment. This organization, seeks to help the poor and minorities start or grow their businesses, in aiding them with the capital/finances (venture capital-capital in exchange for a percentage of ownership interest) that they need, to create jobs, in addition to serving other supplementary needs as well.
Duties:
This position involves serving as a board member and taking votes on actions or bylaws of the organization. The board of director may be called on to participate in activities to promote the organization, in growing a donor base, or occasionally to help in, or oversee the operations of the organization. Additionally, the board member is responsible for generating new ideas and proposals for review by the entire board, to advance the organization's mission and interests.
Required Education or Experience:
Applicant should possess a bachelor's degree in any field, or equivalent experience. Additionally, skills in Microsoft Office Suite, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are helpful. Experience in business, marketing, accounting, finance, economics, information systems/technology, computer design/website development, law, writing, ministry, civil rights, public service, advocacy/public speaking/community organizing, or journalism, are very helpful.

Miscellaneous:
Applicant should have reliable transportation to attend board and organizational meetings and have flexible availability, or at least have availability to attend a day or night board weekly meeting.
