Certified Coder, Part Time 30 hrs/wk Job Opening in wilmington, North Carolina - Certified Coder, Part Time 30 hrs/wk We are currently seeking a Healthcare Compliance Specialist for our multi-specialty group practice. Part Time position up to 30 hours per week. Responsible for auditing documentation and billing activities of clinicians. Provide timely feedback to clinicians on audit findings. Assist in providing training to maximize reimbursement and ensure compliance. Recommend changes in code utilization patterns based upon research in reimbursement and compliance. Prepare information for external audits and provide expertise in coding when appealing external audit findings. Prepare Compliance Report for monthly Leadership meeting. Perform other audits as determined necessary by the Compliance Director (i.e. audits of treatment plans). Conduct utilization reviews with data analysis. Serve as back-up trainer to provide new clinicians coding and documentation training during orientation when the Compliance Specialist/Trainer is unavailable. Educational Requirements: Certification as Coder from an approved program, such as American Academy of Professional Coders, Certified Professional Coder, American Health Information Management Association or Certified Coding Specialist - Physician based. Skills/Knowledge ? ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written; skilled in advanced computer applications, thorough knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS coding rules and regulations, ability to work independently, knowledge of medical terminology.
