Staff Accountant Job Opening in Irving, Texas - Job responsibilities:
Sets up and maintains lease records on the Property Management System in accordance with lease agreements and subsequent amendments. This includes abstracting pertinent information from the contract, performing the ASC 840 (FAS 13) list for accounting treatment, and processing and initial lease payments. Throughout the lease term, the coordinator processes all renewal options, amendments, rent adjustments or changes in the direction of payments.
Calculates CPI adjustments as required by lease agreements
Sets up and maintains percentage rent records for properties with leases that require the company to report and or pay the landlord based upon sales volume. Assists in the review of calendar-year end percentage rent statements created by the Override Rent system
Responsible for processing payee or address related to lease contracts
Researches and follows up on any written or verbal requests or concerns initiated by landlords, agents, or real estate personnel as required. Responds to requests submitted through Accounting Customer Service related to the lease contracts
Processes journal entries as necessary to ensure that all real estate GL lease accounts remain in balance. Responsible for the processing of rent expense accruals for anticipated rent increases when lease negotiations on lease renewals are delayed and rent escalations are expected to be substantial
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by CPA
Working hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Skills:Requirements:
3-5 years Accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required- Accounting experience will weigh heavily
Experience with general ledgers, journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations
Must have an analytical mind set
Must have experience with Excel
