DOL Financial Analyst Job Opening in Washington, District of columbia - Job Description : Provides senior-level analytical and program support. Perform financial accounting support for the client team providing support for core financial statements. Will apply Federal financials experience to the client to help them pull data and develop Department wide financial statements. Formulates diagnoses through financial or statistical modeling, assesses appropriate alternatives, and offers conclusions to managing staff. CPA candidate preferred. Mandatory Conducts cost analysis and trade-off studies, develops cost tracking procedures and track project expenditures, conducts feasibility and requirements analyses and develops life cycle cost estimates for new systems. 7 years Thorough knowledge of Federal financial accounting standards 7 years Provide input and documentation to auditors regarding the preparation of the financial statements. 5-7 years Demonstrated experience in Federal Accounting at a Cabinet level agency 5+ years Preferred Ability to conduct account reconciliation 5-7 years Financial Statement Preparation Experience ? USSGL, Point Accounts, Footnotes and Financial statement preparation 5+ years (in order of preference) Experience with Dept of Treasury Tie-Point analysis Certified Public Accountant preferred 5-7 years Job Responsibilities: * Assist in the development, compilation and reporting agency-wide annual and quarterly Financial Statements: Balance Sheet, Statement of Changes in Net Position, Statement of Net Cost and Statement of Budgetary Resources (SBR) * Prepare and post elimination and adjusting journal entries including accrued benefit adjustments, workers' compensation liability adjustments and other year-end adjustments * Compile and document required financial statement footnote disclosures, and analyze for period-over-period changes * Prepare analytical procedures related to the relationship of budgetary and proprietary accounts, tie-points, abnormal balances and flux analysis * Prepare reconciliation and supporting documentation for subsidiary and general ledger systems * Support the client's compliance with OMB circular A-136 Education Level Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant preferred Work Location Washington, DC (Work to be performed on-site) Special Requirements Work Authorization: US Citizen Clearance Required: Public Trust Clearance (required prior to start)
