Part-time Portfolio Accounting Administrator Job Opening in Washington, District of columbia - Essential Job Functions
Our successful candidate will have well-developed accounting or mathematical skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong computer skills. This part-time position is for a member of our administrative staff with an emphasis on accounting functions for a ~20 person investment advisor. Some of the functions of this position are, but are not limited to:
Balancing client accounts on a weekly basis to reconcile internal portfolio records with the custodian records. Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of transactions in the account; reviewing accounts for discrepancies or irregularities.
Work with the billing team to help generate, review, post and reconcile account fees.
Prepare quarterly account reporting for Portfolio Administrators.
Maintaining accurate and current information in our client information database and in Axys Advent investment management software and any other client management system that is used.
Associated Job Duties
Other office functions, including but not limited to: manipulating excel spreadsheets, answering telephones, data-entry, filing, mailings and word processing.
Back up support of other administrators as well as the trading, research and marketing teams.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Management Team.
Essential Skills
Microsoft Office: In addition to Word; candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Excellent math skills.
Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work in a highly environment required.
Quick learner of in-house software programs.
Financial services or accounting experience is a plus.
Education
4-year college degree, 2-year associates degree or commensurate experience will be considered
