DESCRIPTION OF OPPORTUNITY
Directs and manages the operations of assigned areas in accordance with the objectives of the department.
Responsible for the overall management of the department daily operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal accountability, productivity and patient satisfaction goals/objectives as established by the leadership team.
Responsible for staff performance, provision of high quality patient care, and meeting safety standards in accordance with Hospital and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for directing staff education and competency.
SCOPE OF OPPORTUNITY
This Hospital has an outstanding opportunity for a DIRECTOR OF SURGICAL SERVICES. As our new SURGICAL SERVICES DIRECTOR , you will be responsible for:
Directing a staff of about 50 FTE's.
Coordinating 5 OR's
Assessing as staff including an Assistant Director, Coordinators and staff.
Planning and budgeting
Implementing quality and development ideas.
evaluating the patient care provided on the Surgery Unit.
Maintaining required staffing, supplies, equipment; overseeing overall operations of the unit.
Act as a liaison between hospital administration and the OR staff.

REQUIREMENTS
BACHELOR'S Degree required.
MASTER'S Degree is preferred.
Must have 3 years of Surgical experience and 1 years of demonstrated leadership.
Current BLS, ACLS
Rhode Island RN license or application for required.
