Senior Accountant Job Opening in Marysville, Michigan - The primary responsibilities are preparing journal entries for month end close, preparing and monitoring monthly account reconciliations with explanations for any significant changes in account balances, and weekly/monthly preparation of financial reports and forecasts.
Candidate must have strong knowledge of GAAP with knowledge of IFRS and Sarbanes Oxley preferred. Bachelor's degree in accounting is required as well as 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred. CPA, CMA or advanced degree is a plus.
Responsibilities include:
Maintain fixed assets system and depreciation schedules and reconcile to the GL
Monthly and weekly reporting of actual results vs. forecast and budget
Tracking and reporting of 13 areas of losses on a monthly basis
Documenting and reporting of Sarbanes Oxley compliance
Prepare forecasts for administrative and R&D departments
Prepare monthly capital expenditure forecasts
Perform quarterly fixed asset physical counts
Manage the capital-in-process accounts
Perform quarterly 401k calculation for employer match
Lease recording and reconciliation
Maintain balance sheet reports and their associated account reconciliation
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities as necessary
Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
Prepare for financial audits and assist with the process
Other projects as assigned
