Job # 17-0023 ? Analyst, Financial ? Property Accounting - Owensboro, KY
Position Information:
This position reports to the Manager of Property Tax and Property Accounting. This position will be responsible for various negotiated roles in meeting the Company?s internal and external reporting and filing requirements related to the Company?s fixed assets and depreciation. Roles would include, but are not limited to: the gathering of data; ensure integrity of company asset records; distribution of records; analyzing accounts; and corresponding with internal and external professionals. Reporting requirements include, but are not limited to: the Company?s equity investors and debt holders; and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The position will handle a diverse range of assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment. Successful person will plan and conduct work requiring review by supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Prepare and coordinate unitizations for additions to and retirement from Gas Plant In Service (GL101) along with preparing the material reconciliation for various projects
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of depreciation calculations and adjustments
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of AFUDC calculations and adjustments
Assist in the preparation of FERC?s annual and quarterly forms filings (e.g. Form 2, and Form 3Q) along with preparation of requests due to Rate Case
Coordinate and assist in the preparation of the Company?s annual SOP process
Aid in the preparation of monthly detail of utility plant, capital expenditures analysis, and depreciation summary
Assist in the preparation of the monthly ?Financial Highlights? and capital section
Assist in preparing reports for the monthly CAPEX meetings
Prepare the monthly reports for projects approved by the Board of Directors
Prepare the monthly Interconnect Project Variance Analysis reports and assist with the quarterly meetings to discuss the variances from estimate
Prepare the entry to book the unclassified in-service projects to actuals at month end, and prepare the reconciliation of the CNTA and CWIP GL Accounts to the Job Ledger Entries

Qualifications:
Minimum:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting
Relevant work experience
Entry-level knowledge of accounting practices
Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel & Word
Attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
Must be team oriented and possess good interpersonal skills (interacting and ability to work with others within the organization)
Ability to multitask and exercise time-management skills with ability to meet reporting and compliance deadlines in an accurate and timely manner
Preferred:
CPA designation is preferred
Public accounting experience is preferred
Experience in the natural gas industry preferred
Experienced user of Microsoft Access is preferred
