Production Supervisor Job Opening in Florence, Kentucky - Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 20-30 employees.
Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs using XPPS, AS-400, and/or SAP.
Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Plans flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of machines according to work orders.
Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
Records and schedules employee time off, overtime, vacation, and tardies.
Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems including accident reporting, safety rules, and disciplinary action forms.
Maintains time and production records.
Develops capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
Trains, evaluates, and reviews all new operators.
Tracks and enters employee schedules and attendance in E-time Software application.
Conduct weekly production meeting with leads and subordinate employees to discuss production needs and personnel issues.
Support and enforce established safety policies rules, and regulations on production floor.
Coordinates production status reports and personnel schedules to next shift supervisors.
Conduct and record accident reporting and employee disciplinary measures.
Performs other duties as required or directed by management.
Manages shift OEE performance targets and expectations
Set goals and objectives for shift that align to BU targets and expectation
Manage OT, Temp, and Direct Labor Costs as appropriate
Participate in and conduct continuous improvement activities
Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years manufacturing related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have CNC experience
Must have a mechanical background
Must have ability to read and use gauges such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges
Must have Automotive experience
Must have Computer Skills - preferably knowledge of Lotus Notes systems; E-Time Human Resource systems and Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word Processing software
Knowledge of XPPS recommended
Must have Proficient skills in EPS, PLC, AS-400, Adobe applications and software.
Preferably should have experience or training in: 5's, Lockout & Tagout, basic plant safety, and general machine operations
Preferably should have training or knowledge in Hazardous Waste, ISO 14001 Awareness, ISO 14001 Internal Auditing, ISO 14001 & Beyond, ISO 14001 Top Management, HazWaste/Operator Program Training, HazWaste Manifest and Core Program Training, HazWaste/Crisis Management Training
Must be familiar with Quality, Materials, Environmental, and Safety Policies.
