Sr.Accountant Job Opening in Saint Cloud, Minnesota - What we need :
Cetera Financial Group, the largest privately held broker dealer in the nation, is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Broker/Dealer accounting function at our offices located in Saint Cloud, MN. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the investment industry while putting your communication, problem solving, and corporate accounting skills to work providing valuable information and resources to the organization.
What you will do :
Provide expertise on business related accounting issues, general ledger posting and financial reporting.
Support monthly, quarterly and year-end close process.
Accurately post journal entries and adjustments in accordance with reporting requirements
Prepare for financial audit and assist in audit process and audit requests
Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures and internal controls.
Research current accounting and reporting issues, trends and policies to ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC
Prepare various balance sheet subsidiary account analysis schedules
Prepare various reports needed internally
Other special projects, technical accounting, research, and memo preparation as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance or related
CPA or CPA candidate
Minimum four years of Public Accounting experience
Exposure to SEC reporting, either while employed by a public company or a public accounting firm, is a plus
General ledger account analysis and journal entry experience
Familiarity with Great Plains or similar accounting software programs
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management and follow-up skills
Computer savvy with a proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Highly motivated and driven with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to keep meticulous records, maintain accuracy, and not lose sight of important details
Willing to work overtime to finish the task required
