Retail/Wholesale Parts Counter Sales Job Opening in Hattiesburg, Mississippi - SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for selling items to the general public, stock shelves and merchandise the sales floor, pick parts for customer orders and pack them up in a timely matter. This position calls for someone who has high energy, a sense of urgency, is a team player, and maintains focus throughout a whole day. In addition, they must be affective at handling customers both on the phone and at the counter.
Selling ? Greets customers in a friendly and approachable fashion. Inquires as to how the
customer can be assisted. Research and locate the requested part(s) and make suggestions as to other parts and/or supplies they may also need to complete their repair job. Must be comfortable with add on sales.
Picking/Packing - Orders come in via the computer and you must be able to find the part, pick it and pack it accurately. You must be able to pay attention to detail and pick and pack orders in a timely fashion. All picked orders must be appropriately packed and readied for shipping, via UPS or other common carriers.
Customer Service ? Must have the ability to talk by phone or at the counter with customers with diplomacy and tact, as well as handle their needs appropriately and efficiently. Must have the ability to use the computer and be trained in basic computer skills.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : High school diploma or G.E.D. Minimum of 6 months experience in distribution, warehousing, picking, packing, shipping, etc. Must meet our quality, safety and production standards. Maintains focus and a positive attitude throughout the day. Has a sense of urgency and strives to improve. Ability to handle detailed and complicated orders in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multi-task priorities and work autonomously. Capable of functioning effectively in a dynamic work environment dealing with multiple people and personalities. Work honestly and ethically as a motivated team player. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must be self-motivated, dependable and possess excellent organizational skills. Reports any injuries, safety hazards or concerns to supervisor immediately. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. repeatedly and on a regular requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust be able to work the majority of shift on his/her feet (walking, standing, climbing, bending, lifting, carrying, etc.) to deal with stressful situations as they arise.
