Position Summary: The sales associate supports the management team in achieving financial goals and promoting a positive work environment. This is accomplished through demonstrating selling behaviors, meeting customer service standards and completing register procedures for customer transactions. Additionally, the sales associate assists management in maintaining store presentation and completing operational tasks.
Core Roles:
Customer Service and Sales Floor Awareness
Provide exceptional customer service to all customers utilizing brand specific selling programs. ?Maintain awareness of customer traffic at all times. ? Proactively engage with customers with a warm greeting. ? Initiate on-going professional development and build knowledge and selling skills through the use of available tools and programs. ? Acquire and share knowledge about product and promotions.
People
Works effectively with other employees and management. ? Receptive to feedback, willingly accepts direction, and guidance. ? Flexible with tasks.
Store Operations
Adhere to all policies and procedures. ? Ensure store is clean and maintained to visual standards. ? Complete markdowns and replenishment processes. ? Support loss prevention measures by securing cash, merchandise, and company assets.
Requirements :
Work Schedule (There is no guarantee of a set schedule or amount of hours):
Availability must be a minimum 12 hours/3 shifts weekly. ? Availability must allow for the store to adhere to company policy, effective scheduling guidelines and state law. ? Shifts ranging from 2.5 to 8 hours, depending on business needs, not to exceed 29 hours a week. ? May work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays depending on store business and staffing level. ? Sales associates may be scheduled opening, mid, or closing shifts, depending on store business and staffing level. ? Extended shifts will be scheduled if a shortage of staffing occurs and/or during peak selling times, which include but are not limited to, new lines, inventory, sales promotions, special events, and holidays.
Communication and Problem Solving Skills:
Effective communication enabling him/her to converse with employees, customers, and supervisors. ? Analyzes situations, offers solutions using sound judgment, and is action-oriented.
Physical Requirements:
Work quickly to complete physical tasks such as showing merchandise to customers, placing merchandise in fixtures, setting new lines, completing daily store maintenance which includes, but is not limited to, climbing ladders, cleaning, and lifting boxes ranging from 5-35 lbs. Possess the ability to read, write, and conduct business-related mathematics. Operate a register terminal and calculator.
